IBS Newsletter - May 2023

WHAT IS THE SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH OF IBS?
Studies show that going green represents good business from an economic point of view. Moreover, customers around the globe are asking for green, reliable, faster, and more convenient solutions. For those reasons, IBS was committed since day one to provide organizations with digital solutions that take them a step towards greater environmental sustainability.
Our iKiosk, iPOS, and iMobile solutions, for instance, provide electronic payments (e-payments) that aren’t only easier and more efficient; but also reduce the amount of paper used. Online billing provides customers with an option to receive bills and receipts through email instead of printing them (paperless billing). Online billing also reduces the carbon footprint generated in the delivery processes.Using e-payments reduces the number of times a client has to visit the branch which subsequently reduces the use of cars and fuel. Fewer miles driven means fewer emissions.
In 2022, IBS thought of a solution to all the plastic cards that aren’t biodegradable and which produce a lot of greenhouse gas. We designed and developed the ‘iWallet’ solution to allow customers process payments, top-ups, transfers, etc. through mobile wallets and digital cards! This certainly saves money by avoiding more plastic card production.Paying with virtual cards or mobile wallets uses pre-existing infrastructure such as smartphones and mobile networks, and offers a paperless payment service.
IBS will continue to develop sustainable solutions that save time, money, and the planet, year after year!

IBS Newsletter - April 2023

The Expansion of the EVD Solution at Vodafone
Our journey started with Vodafone year 2016 when Vodafone purchased IBS' eVoucher Distribution System (EVD) to process evouchers. At then, Vodafone deployed only 400 POS machines that operated over Linux OS.
Vodafone gradually began to deploy our new POS terminals, which operated on Android OS, making the total of machines 2,300 in the year 2017. Two additional services were also added to the EVD System, namely eTop-up and bill payment services. Vodafone was able to process all services through the old and new POS machines.
At the end of year 2018, the fourth service was added to facilitate international eTop-up services. Another 1,000 POS machines were also deployed and a mobile app was developed to run the latest EVD System over Android tablets and mobile devices.
In 2019, a new feature was added under the name 'Commission on the Fly' to boost sales and promote flexible commission rates. Apart from this feature, two new services were also developed: Notification Management and Reporting.A successful and smooth migration of the system was completed in year 2020, which entailed moving the system data from IBS network to Vodafone's infrastructure. Simultaneously, Vodafone ordered around 2,800 new POS machines.A new service was introduced in year 2021 to link every merchant with RSO, which guaranteed that processing services - like checking balances and transferring balances; are easier than before. The total of POS machines and mobile devices connected to Vodafone EVD System reached 5,000 by then.In October 2021, Vodafone implemented 5 Self Service Machines (IBS iKiosk SSM) to provide the same services to customers but now through attractive and user-friendly kiosk machines. The interface was translated to 10 languages (English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Sinhalese, Punjabi, Bangladesh, Malayan, Pashto, Tagalog). In December, the number of iKiosk SSM was 30, and nowadays Vodafone has around 90 kiosk machines. Learn more about IBS SSM (September Newsletter).
'I Pay Cash-In' service was added in year 2022 to all Vodafone iKiosk SSM. This new service facilitated topping up ones account. In mid-2022, IBS launched new Android POS devices which were ordered afterwards by Vodafone to make the total 4,500 machines by the end of year 2022. A 'Bill Payment' service was added to enable customer of linking several mobile numbers to ones account, in addition to 'Pay by QR code' which only operated through the etop-up service.
Later in 2022, the EVD System was updated with two new services to support the load during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022; FIFA eVoucher and FIFA Top-up. This enabled FIFA fans to easily execute services over mobile devices, POS terminals, and Kiosk machines.
IBS is now developing and testing a new application for Vodafone. This application will allow customers to buy SIM cards from any tablet, mobile, or POS machine.

New Project at Vodafone Qatar, Right Before WORLD CUP 2022!

IBS is glad to announce the implementation of a new project at Vodafone Qatar. The project involves adding 4,000 POS cloud machines to Vodafone’s existing network and installing more licenses of IBS iVoucher and iPOS modules on the new POS devices.

The collaboration between IBS and Vodafone Qatar started 6 years ago to implement IBS e-Voucher Distribution System (EVD) "i-voucher", starting with Linux POS machines. After 6 years of collaboration, Vodafone now operates thousands of android POS machines and hundreds of selfservice machines all over Qatar
all through IBS technology.  Thousands of Vodafone clients are using Vodafone mobile app, not only to issue top-up vouchers but also to process different services related to vouchers, direct topup, postpaid bill payments, wallet top-up, and much more.

The new implementation will have Vodafone prepared for the great many people visiting Qatar for the sake of attending World Cup 2022. Vodafone customers will be able to perform speedy
 and intelligent services.

Do IBS Smart Kiosks Support Face & Speech Recognition and Document Authentication?

Yes they do! IBS kiosks are able to process facial recognition, speech recognition, and documents authentication & verification.

Facial recognition is the most popular biometric technology in the market. It combines accurate identification of people and high speed of operation. The facial recognition module detects faces, checks ICAO, detects masks, recognizes emotion, extracts templates, and matches faces.
The documents authentication module reads, classifies, extracts, and compares electronic data with the data extracted through OCR. It also compares live facial images (captured through web cam) with scanned images (in driver licenses or passports).

The speech recognition or voice commands is a new feature offered by IBS. Interaction Speech Recognition (ISR) digitizes acoustical signals and recovers words and speech elements from audio input, meaning it accepts voice commands to run services. ISR is a technology that has algorithms for identifying and acting on specific phrases or word patterns. We use Microsoft speech recognition technology with their AI advances. ISR is a locally processed speech recognition which does not rely on any cloud computing for accuracy, dictation. ISR supports customer language models and can create grammars. ISR has a 90% accuracy for the Arabic Language, Indian English, and US English. We are still working on the improvement of the ISR to make it more accurate and to be able to handle other languages.

NEW! Partnership Agreement with Ciontek

IBS signs a new partnership agreement with Ciontek; an ODM manufacturer specialized in Android Point-Of-Service hardware solutions.

Since its foundation in 2009, Ciontek has been developing and manufacturing the best hardware and firmware technology, from handheld barcode scanners to industrial tablets, and ultimately focusing on point of service systems such as Smart POS and Comprehensive Payment Systems. Ciontek launched smart POS in 2017. The POS terminal was delivered over 200K times worldwide in 2018.

Ciontek POS machines fit perfectly within IBS Terminal Management System (Infinite e-Channels Management Platform)
.  The machines store data on the cloud, which enables authorized devices over the network to control, monitor, and manage the POS device.

Ciontek offers several POS models to serve different needs and industries. For instance, Ciontek has a device that suits clients who only use QR code and NFC payment; and another suitable for Stripe/IC/NFC bankcard from Visa/Mastercard/Amex/China Unionpay; and more! Once our experts understand the business procedures of an organization, we present a few POS machine options that are tailored to the offered services.
